It was a bumper day for West Ham United as they beat lowly Macclesfield Town 8-0 at the London Stadium.

The huge win saw braces by Robert Snodgrass as well as debutante Grady Diangana. Michail Antonio found the back of the net in the 29th minute to get the Hammers off to a good start. Snodgrass put one in just four minutes later and Lucas Perez scored seven minutes after that to bring it to 3-0 at half.

The floodgates opened right away in the second half when Ryan Fredericks scored followed by an Angelo Ogbonna goal three minutes later.

Snodgrass bagged his brace on the hour mark and Diangana scored his first goal seven minutes later. He got his brace with eight minutes left in the game after being assisted by fellow debutante Joe Powell.

The big win follows two stellar performances by the team against Everton and Chelsea in the Premier League. The Hammers will hope to keep things rolling against Manchester United (or divided as it seems right now.)

With the win West Ham move on in the Carabao Cup and have plenty of momentum to build off. Especially for the youth players who made appearances. In addition to Powell and Diangana, Connor Coventry made his first team debut tonight.

Let’s hope that the Hammers can continue this scoring spree and it spreads to more of the first team players.
