Jack Wilshere is reportedly in advanced talks with West Ham United about a permanent move to the East London club. Wilshere is available on a free transfer after his Arsenal contract expired on Saturday.

According to the well-connected ExWHU Employee a deal could be nearing completion:

Fenerbahce have reportedly made an offer as well, but the England international has told Sky Sports News he will be patient:

“This has been a good opportunity for me to rest and reflect on my life and what I want - I am not going to rush that decision,

”The transfer window finishes early August, so we still have some time and with the World Cup still going on things happen after the World Cup and during.

”Everyone knows what Deadline Day is like, it’s manic and teams start to panic so we will see. I am not putting a deadline on anything.”

New Arsenal boss Unai Emery made it clear to the 26-year-old that if he remained in North London, playing time would have been significantly reduced.

On a personal note, I can’t help but shake the feeling that West Ham could be signing another Andy Carroll. Both are injury-plagued England talents who failed to reach their true potential, but can ‘beat anyone on their day’. Wilshere has face frequent controversy throughout his career, with questions being asked about his work-ethic and commitment to football.

Wilshere has only managed one season of 30+ league games in his career so far and would likely demand high wages. If it was down to me. I’d look elsewhere for a new signing, despite the sentimental factors.
