Obiang joined the Hammers from Sampdoria in 2015 as the first signing of the Slaven Bilic era. Who could forget the shambolic way David Gold tweeted the announcement? Complete with picture of Angelo Ogbonna.
David Gold is TOO MUCH!!! that's Ogbonna not Obiang pic.twitter.com/Ue6hpGxWF3

Last week The Daily Mail reported that Obiang was eager to return to Italy, the Spain Under-21 international’s place might have been in jeopardy in Pellegrini’s re-shaped midfield. West Ham have so far signed Jack Wilshere, Andriy Yarmolenko and Felipe Anderson, which may have squeezed Obiang out of his place in the centre of midfield.
Obiang’s contract at West Ham is due to expire in 2022, if he does leave Southampton’s Mario Lemina could be a potential replacement.
Obiang is currently at West Ham’s training ground and taking part in our training. Will update if I hear anything else
