Encouraging start thus far for the Hammers with Mario goal

It’s been an encouraging start for West Ham United at the KingPower Stadium, with Joao Mario giving the side the first half lead with his tap-in goal 34th minute.

That’s Adrian reaction to the goal, and what a quality team move it was. Arthur Masuaku showed once again quality forward play to send in a good cross that found Marko Arnautovic on the back post. The Austrian star, who had just hit the crossbar with a fantastic effort, did so well to show composure and redirect a pass right into the path of Mario. The Portuguese midfielder just couldn’t miss a wonderful opportunity and steered it into the back of the net.

With Joe Hart unavailable due to illness and Javier Hernandez out thanks to another knee injury, David Moyes side were clearly the better outlet in the opening half.

Will it continue deep into the second half for West Ham? We shall see:
