West Ham transfer target Tom Cairney set tongues waggling when he was spotted sitting directly behind David Moyes at West Ham’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea. The Scotland international was in attendance in a personal capacity with former teammate Matt Smith.
Cairney was spied by eagle-eye fans who speculated why the Fulham captain was sitting behind the dugout. Moyes recently attended a game at Craven Cottage as he cast his eye over Fulham’s Ryan Fredericks and Aleksandar Mitrovic, on loan from Newcastle. Social media conspiracy theorists strongly suspected Cairney was repaying the favour. The Chelsea game would surely be a good match for any potential signing to attend.
Don’t wanna break any Fulham hearts but we just met Tom cairney and he is 100% joining West Ham

Moyes was quick to dismiss these rumours post-game, when asked about Cairney’s presence, the West Ham boss replied: “No idea, was he?
“If he was then it certainly wasn’t a ticket from us. I was hoping you were going to say Lionel Messi was sitting behind us!”
I see people saw Tom Cairney at Chelsea - West Ham yesterday and are adding 2 and 2 together and making 23020. Anyone going to link Matt Smith to West Ham too cause he was there?

Fulham are the form side of the Championship, currently on a club-record 19 win streak which has taken them up to third in the table. Should the West London club fail to win promotion Slavisa Jokanovic’s side could be pillaged, with many players attracting strong Premier League interest.
On a personal note I’d love for Tom Cairney to join West Ham, not just because he’s a great player. I am very keen to reunite my devastating midfield from Football Manager 2007, all we need is Marco Verratti and Mark Noble is heading for his first league title!
