It was an afternoon that was suppose to celebrate a legend. It instead turned into an afternoon that was the opposite of legendary, but incendiary.
Here in full photos were the images of what turn out to be an actual fan protest during a game, in maybe the worst second half ever in West Ham United history. It’s one thing to have terrible defending culminating in another relegation fight to the end of the season. It’s another to then consolidate that with actual fans running onto the field and getting into verbal tussles with actual players.
A day few have ever seen before in the Premier League, let alone at West Ham United.
It all kicked off after Ashley Barnes goal, when the first fan went right to the face of Mark Noble.
And then after Chris Wood’s first goal, all hell further broke loose.
There was one humorous image in all of this trainwreck. It was the image of Trevor Brooking looking docile and calm, as the owning Davids had exited in recommended fashion.

Happy Bobby Moore day to you all.
