There’s no question that Grady Diangana has emerged as one of the young players to watch in the Premier League currently. And after West Ham United’s 4-2 win on Burnley, the 20-year-old chatted about another precocious performance to further enhance his growing reputation.
“More and more, every session, every match, I feel like I am part of this team,” Diangana said to the club’s official website. “I want to carry doing what I’m doing for the team.”
Diangana was key in a great attacking afternoon for the Hammers over the weekend, including providing the key pass that lead to Manuel Pellegrini side taking a second lead in the match. With the long term injuries to elite talents like Manuel Lanzini and Andriy Yarmolenko, the 20-year-old has been thrust into the roll of more prime minutes. And the excitement he is showing on and off the field represents how grateful he is.
“It was one of the best feelings I’ve felt in a long time, getting the three points and seeing how much it meant to the players and to the fans,” Diangana said. “It was a good feeling.”
“I was thinking ‘Why us!’ when they got it back to 2-2, but it was good to see the desire in the team to keep going and keep believing that we could get the victory. This team never gives up, especially with the crowd behind us throughout the whole game. When you can feel the energy from the crowd, it gives you that extra energy.”
