The good news is that Jack Wilshere and especially Andy Carroll are back healthy again for West Ham United after their latest long term absences in their careers.
The bad news is that they could be make their celebrated returns against none other than Manchester City on Saturday, as Manuel Pelligrini confirmed the news in his pre-match press conference on Thursday afternoon.
“Yes, both of them worked this week with the squad,” Pellegrini said about the talented Englishmen.
The Chilean boss confirmed that Samir Nasri is indeed a future player at the club.
“Well we see, Samir Nasi is working with us after a long time after his ban,” he said. “We are giving him a hand to help him with his return to football. He will stay here (until Christmas to continue training) .”
When asked if Manchester City were better than their record breaking Premier League season of 2017-18, Pellegrini stressed patience on the answer to that.
“You cannot compare a part of the season with a full season. They scored 100 goals, now we’re just in the first round of the season, they are unbeaten, but also Chelsea and Liverpool, so we must wait until the season to compare.”
Pellegrini also made sure to not fully react to the words of Marko Arnautovic’s brother saying that he wanted to go to a Champions League club.
“I cannot tell anyone what they must say or what they must do. I don’t know what he said, but he can say that he wants.”
