It wasn’t anywhere as exciting as their Boxing Day six-goal draw thriller, but West Ham United and Bournemouth split the points again in their reverse Premier League fixture on Saturday 1-1 at the London Stadium.
Ryan Fraser and Javier Hernandez provided goals just two minutes apart, as the Hammers recovered immediately following the Cherries taking the lead.
That Fraser goal came in the 71st minute after West Ham developed product Junior Stanislas produced problems for his first club once again off the bench, as he provided the quality assist for the talented, young Scot to finish superbly past Adrian.
But the Hammers provided a great example of what an instant response is, as just two minutes later as Bournemouth finished celebrating their late lead, a long box straight from the kickoff lead to Hernandez cleaning up a deflected Marko Arnautovic’s shot in the box for a much needed goal for the Mexican star.
Stanislas renamed a constant threat to the end of the match, but both sides couldn’t come up with enough quality to separate themselves from each other.
It’s another key point to keep pushing the Hammers up the table, and they will hope their points gathering streak continues when the Premier League returns in two weeks time. But it’s back to the FA Cup next week for David Moyes’ side, as they will face off against Wigan next Saturday.
