Diafra Sakho’s 90th minute goal proved the difference to give West Ham United a vital 1-0 home win over Swansea City Saturday at the London Stadium.

It was the perfect capper to a great week for the Senegal striker, who was recalled to his national team for their upcoming key World Cup qualifiers. Sakho finished off great work from fellow substitute Arthur Masuaku, who did terrifically to set him up for the winning goal.

It was the moment of relief that Slaven Bilic and the Hammers fans had hope to see, as it appeared another frustrating draw was on the cards.

Prior to Sakho’s difference making moment, the best match of the chance fell to Carroll just five minutes earlier, when the tall forward did wonderfully from an earlier Masuaku solid delivery to flick it on goal, only for it to hit the right post of Lukasz Fabianski’s goal.

West Ham United will return to action after the international break on Saturday October 14, when they travel to Burnley.
