Bilic: Lanzini, Antonio will be available vs Swansea; Obiang still out

Just when two are back, Slaven still doesn’t have a full squad

In news that is a blessing and relief to all West Ham fans across the globe, star attacking midfielders Manuel Lanzini and Michail Antonio are cleared to play for the Hammers against Swansea City on Saturday.

Manager Slaven Bilic revealed that encouraging set of news in the beginning of his weekly pre-match press conference Thursday, where two of his many match winners in his squad will likely play against Paul Clement’s well organized team. But while Lanzini returns from his injury, the Hammers’ second best passer, Pedro Obiang, is out once again.

“Lanzini is back in the squad, so he should be back in the squad,” Bilic said. “Then we have Michail Antonio, who went off in the Spurs game and it wasn’t that bad. There was always a chance that he might be available for the game against Swansea. So it was like that he trained with us today. So he will be in the squad for Saturday’s game. Pedro Obiang still feels that from the West Brom game.”

Besides Obiang, Bilic indicated the rest of the squad was “okay”, meaning that Edimilson Fernandes also appears to be in contention from the matchday 18.

When asked about the potential of getting back to back wins against Swansea City and then after the international break against hopeless, hapless Crystal Palace, Bilic made sure to stay in the moment of what awaits his side on Saturday.

“For me, the only way to approach the Premier League is be only thinking about your next game,” he said. “Of course we know who were are playing after and all that. But your whole concentration and focus should be and it is only on our next game and that is Swansea at home.”
