Pre-Match Before The Lineups

Monday is here, and the full matchday for West Ham’s crucial home opener against Huddersfield is upon us at the London Stadium.

It’s the annual Premier League Monday evening fixture before the Champions League group stage starts, but West Ham could only dream of being in a European place following a nightmare start to the season that has them in last place coming into matchday four.

As Jonathan Liebling mentioned, here is where you can watch the game.

We’ve talked a lot about the Hammers of course, as we are aware that Marko Arnautovic, Manuel Lanzini and Edimilson Fernandes will be unavailable tonight. But Andy Carroll is back in the squad, with Winston Reid also available following his recovery from a freak injury.

Huddersfield meanwhile have had an ideal start to their Premier League existence, with seven solid points in their first three games. They’ve done it without vice captain Jonathan Hogg and defender Martin Cranie, who are out tonight for a fourth straight game. Young Slovenian centerback Gorenc Stankovic will remain a long-term absentee due to his knee injury.

This thread will be updated when the lineups come one hour before kickoff. Stay tuned.

Lineups

Andy Carroll receives the unexpected start on his return, as Mark Noble is out and not in the 18 at all. It will be a five man backline, with Reid back, Collins and Fonte join him as the three centerbacks.

Meanwhile for Huddersfield, they expectedly remain unchanged.

Bilic’s pre-match comments:

As always, the match recap and maybe a halftime recap, to come.

Enjoy the game, and #COYI.
