West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic faces a tough season ahead as he prepares the team for a long 2017/18 campaign in the Premier League. He only has one season remaining on his current contract with the club, but is this season a “do-or-die” one for the Croatian?

After leading West Ham United through a difficult campaign last season, Bilic will be wanting to sign a new contract, keeping him at the club for the foreseeable future, but the only way he can achieve this is by helping the team win the games.
In my mind, tactics and making good decisions are always key to success. Look at Sir Alex Ferguson for instance. The Scotsman didn’t lead Manchester United because of his good looks, but because of the way he used the players he had. The on-field tactics he employed enabled the players to work cohesively and ultimately they won silverware.
But what does Bilic need to do this season? Employ the right tactics, continue making the right decisions and give the players the boost in the dressing room, even more so this season as we recover from a disappointing season.

In this current transfer window, we’ve seen the Croat sign some truly incredible players to boost the positions we’ve needed boosting. Players like Pablo Zabaleta, Javier Hernandez and Marko Arnautovic will be relishing the opportunity to help Bilic and the club this season as they’ll be hungry for some success as well.
As we get ready to head into the 2017/18 Premier League season, there’ll be a fair amount of critics watching Slaven Bilic as he uses this season to impress the owners and the Board. Where will West Ham United finish at the end of this season? Well, nobody knows. But one thing’s for sure, it’s set to be another great season of Premier League Football.
