The time for summer vacation, unless you are Jose Fonte, is over for West Ham’s stalwarts.

Preseason for the 2017-18 season begins on Monday in Austria, as the Hammers look to have a successful July and early August period ahead of a pressure filled second season at the London Stadium.

For now, no major new transfers have been made before the start of camp, as a lot of questions swirl around what will the first team look like come the season opener at Manchester United in about a month’s time (August 13).

Will Slaven Bilic and the board be able to find that elusive forward that they are looking for, as well as be able to strengthen at goalkeeper and other positions?

Will the summer bring in needed recovery for the plethora of injury riddled players that harmed the club constantly throughout last season?

And with no rush for fresh faces after the poor results from last summer’s ambitious spending, which young talents from the Hammers quality youth academy will make themselves a factor into getting regular playing time to start the season?
