West Ham United have announced that talented Italian defender Angelo Ogbonna has signed a new long term deal with the club.

The five year deal will see the defender stay with the Hammers until 2022. Oggy made 20 appearances last season and his presence was missed after an injury kept him out for a few months.

He was signed in 2015 for a reported 10 million pounds from Juventus. He quickly became a mainstay in the backline forming a strong partnership with Winston Reid. He has also provided us one of the best FA cup finshes in recent memory.

He told the official club website

This is one in a line of many new deals for Hammers that have performed well. Michail Antonio signed a new deal last month, and Manuel Lanzini is expected to get a new deal shortly as well.
