At 9am BST this morning, the Premier League released it's schedule for the upcoming 2017/18 season. West Ham United have the pleasure of playing their first three matches away from home due to The London Stadium’s athletic restrictions.
The opening weekend of the season sees The Hammers travelling to Old Trafford against Manchester United in the pick of the weekend’s matches, meaning Sky will probably look to move the fixture to a televised kick-off slot.
Our first home game of the year will come against newly-promoted minnows Huddersfield Town on September the 9th, with the first London derby coming two weeks later against Spurs on September the 23rd.
Other games against Premier League new-boys Newcastle and Brighton come in August and October respectively.
West Ham’s toughest month looks set to be December, a month in which we could see Slaven Bilic’s job tested, with Everton, Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal all in the space of two weeks.
Tough away trips that month include Stoke, Bournemouth and Spurs with the latter being played away on New Years Eve, whilst once again Boxing Day is played away from Westfield Shopping Centre, potentially due to the clash with Christmas shoppers.
The run in to the end of the season also looks tricky, with games against Arsenal, Manchester City, Leicester and the final game of the season coming at home against Everton. It’ll be the first time West Ham have played at home on the final day since they played Reading in 2013.
