Bilic: Both Carroll and Masuaku could play vs Spurs

The forward & left back will be evaluated after practice

West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic stated Thursday that both Andy Carroll and Arthur Masuaku could be available for their upcoming derby clash against Tottenham.

The Hammers boss indicated the pair will be evaluated in the practice session after his weekly press conference to see if they will contest against second place Spurs at the London Stadium on Friday.

“Masuaku few days before the Stoke game had a knock on his foot before,” Bilic said. “And then he didn’t train. Nothing broken, just very sore. He played against Stoke but could only manage 45 minutes. He’s going to try today and we’re going to decide for tomorrow night.”

“Andy, he trained individually for a couple of days now. He’s gonna try today and now in the training and then we’re going to see. I don’t know now, in one hour or a half time, I will know.”

The amicable Croatian tactician was asked the obvious question of how big the match is against Mauricio Pochettino’s title contending side.

“Derby game at our stadium, so it’s a massive game for them and a massive game for us, Bilic said. “We’re going to try and get the points or points tomorrow to automatically secure our status.”

Asked once again about how he feels about his job status continuing to be questioned, Bilic delivered his usual response on the matter.

“I’m not enjoying it. But does it affect my preparations? No.”
