It has been a tremendous 2017 for Manuel Lanzini. From becoming the Players’ Player of the season from his teammates, to coming close to what would have been a deserved Hammer of the Season award, the diminutive wizard has been simply magical.

And now, Lanzini’s year has gotten just a bit more awesome, as he could become a full fledged Argentine senior international in the coming weeks.

The Hammers playmaker has been selected by new Argentina manager Jorge Sampaoli’s first squad for La Albiceleste’s upcoming friendlies vs Brazil and Singapore in June.

Here is the full list of players called up by the former Sevilla boss, as he leaves the reigning Europa League champions after just one season of management.

It shows how amazing Lanzini has been, to get this nod over established talents like Ezequiel Lavezzi, Angel Correa and fellow Premier League force Sergio Aguero. Hopefully Lanzini’s call up will not lead to the Hammers having to fight for him to stay over the summer.
