Well, well, well... what do we have here? Looks like the Frenchman is feeling a wee bit underappreciated. I mean, we get it right? Olivier Giroud is ‘playing’ for an underwhelming Arsenal team that can’t seem to scratch out three points.
“Mine, yes. It’s like Zlatan’s improbable overhead kick against England or Marco Van Basten’s volley, goals I would have liked to score.”
Giroud did have one of the more incredible goals of the season when, against Crystal Palace, an unlikely scorpion kick sent the ball hurling towards the back of the net. As fantastic as the goal was, Olivier couldn’t let go the fact that he lost the Premier League’s goal of the month award to West Ham United front man, Andy Carroll.
“Andy Carroll’s goal is magnificent, but maybe people won’t remember it in two years’ time.
Let’s remember for a second that this award wasn’t yesterday, but rather dates back to January. Almost four months later, Giroud is practically begging for his goal to be remembered. The fact that his goal lost, justifiably or not, has been clearly eating at him for several months. Maybe Olivier should be more concerned with the remaining matches this season and not finishing below the top four? This much is undeniable, nobody is more impressed with Olivier Giroud, than Olivier Giroud.
Here are the two goals again. What do you think was the more impressive strike my totally unbiased Hammer friends?
