Multiple reports suggest that West Ham United’s Michail Antonio has attracted the attention of Chelsea and Manchester United. This isn’t the first time that Antonio has been linked to other clubs in the press, as his name popped up before the January transfer window.

Michail Antonio has been a fantastic player for the Hammers this season, leading the club in goal scoring with eight goals. He has also lined up all over the pitch, playing everything from right back to striker for the club. His pace and drive has caused problems for other teams all season and he has also had a number of assists this season, with three coming against Crystal Palace, including the pass that created the Andy Carroll wonder strike.

An English player with pace and power will always attract attention, and Antonio was called up to the England squad in August 2016. His versatility is also seen as an asset. While Antonio says that he prefers to play on the wing, he has played well enough that he has seemed to be preferred to a number of higher profile players at West Ham this season, including record signing Andre Ayew.

Of course, speculation like this usually comes up when money starts getting involved. Slaven Bilic has come out recently and said that a new deal is close to being done for Antonio that will keep him at the London Stadium for the foreseeable future. Hopefully the new deal will keep Antonio in claret and blue for years to come.
