FT: West Ham 1-0 Chelsea: Happy Hammer winning days are back to make Blues blue

OMG, we had an amazing full 90 minute winning performance!

West Ham United secured their finest display and victory of the season, defeating London rivals Chelsea 1-0 behind an early Marko Arnautovic winning goal.

It was by far the best West Ham performance in an opening half of the season, as the hosts were terrific throughout with confident play, great organization and determined passion that caught the defending Premier League champions off guard. They were rewarded for their terrific beginning in the sixth minute, when Manuel Lanzini and Arnautovic connected on a beautiful move for the Austrian to score a big goal. His celebration into the stands represented how massive the moment were for him and the fans.

For them on, David Moyes side displayed tremendous resolve, fight and focus unlike any point this season, as they held off a valiant Chelsea side throughout the contest with continued resolute defending and standout displays across the field. Arthur Masuaku was sublime, as well as centerback pairing Angelo Ogbonna and Winston Reid to spreadheaded the Hammers into a rare happy moment in current times.

Antonio Conte’s side tried as hard as they always do, but when Alvaro Morata missed his only real chance of the day just wide before stoppage time, it was the final sign needed for it to be the Hammers day at long last.

It is again a massive win for West Ham United, and smiles all around at the London Stadium. They will hope to continue these welcome great vibes next week against Arsenal.
