First, before the match thread begins, look at Sam Allardyce just conveniently walking around Goodison Park.

Anyway, Allardyce’s former club will face off against possibly his new club, as Premier League disappointments West Ham and Everton face off in a key clash of the league’s biggest underachievers so far this season.

David Moyes once again returns to the place that made his career, but after two substandard performances from his new side, is already in need of results. The Scot will be without his two first choice strikers, as Andy Carroll joined Javier Hernandez in being unavailable altogether for this match at the last minute. But in a rare bit of good news on the injury front for West Ham, Michail Antonio is back in the squad. Much raved youngster Toni Martinez meanwhile has a spot on the bench.

For Everton, there will be no Leighton Baines, Phil Jagielka or Kevin Mirallas in their side, but versatile defender Mason Holgate is back in the squad for them.

So it’s 17th Everton vs 18th place West Ham United, with these two talented but troubled sides separated by two points. Will either side find happiness here on a Wednesday evening in Liverpool? Will David Moyes finally get a real positive performance and his first win with his new club at his old stopping ground? Or will it be another night of pure frustration and despair for the West Ham United global community?

We shall all see.
