What a long and strange season it has been for West Ham United. To further compound the theme, Roma have approached Sofiane Feghouli and offered terms of a transfer. Normally, two clubs would have to agree to a transfer fee before anyone would approach the player. But let’s not let convention and tradition get in the way!

La Gazetta Dello Sport is reporting the move is rumored to be a short term loan with the option to buy for around €12m Euros.

Feghouli has been shown the bench for much of the season with Slaven Bilic only really calling on the Algerian international in the 80th minute of a match. In a rare start, Sofiane was part of the squad who were demolished at the hands of Manchester City in a 5-0 route in the FA Cup.

The biggest wave Sofiane has endured this season was for being falsely sent off by Mike Dean. A red card that would later prove to be unwarranted and eventually repealed.

Fans were both surprised and excited when the highly touted Sofiane Feghouli decided to join West Ham United. Many high end clubs across Europe were in talks with the Valencia product but it was the Hammers who would come out on top. However like many of West Ham’s summer signings, Feghouli never really lived up to the hype and fans were left with questions as to Sofiane’s place on this team.

The place might now be elsewhere as AS Roma are looking to swoop in and bring on the Algerian international as they make their final championship push in Serie A. Only four points behind Juventus, Roma will look to bolster their attacking lines. If this is the end of Sofiane Feghouli’s run in East London, I dare say he will be seldom missed.
