It took a while for Michail Antonio to find his feet under Slaven Bilic’s new look set up at West Ham last season, a deadline day signing that quietly went unnoticed waited for his chance to show what he was capable of.

Although incredibly fast, agile and versatile, Antonio gave Slaven Bilic no doubt that he’d have secured a weekly space in the Croatian’s starting eleven this season, with his fine goal scoring touch.

After signing a new and improved £35,000 a week deal last summer to keep him at the club until 2020, stellar performances saw him receive his first England call-up under new manager Gareth Southgate.

With his man-of-the-match performances continuing to be the talking point this season and his transfer stock rising, his 8 goal haul in 20 games have certainly caught the eye of the Premier League’s top clubs.

With that in mind The Guardian are reporting this morning Antonio is set to double his wage packet from the original £35,000 a week to £70,000 to fend off any interest. It also means he’d sign a new five-year deal to keep him at the club until 2021.

With Dimitri Payet reportedly on his way out of the club, Bilic will be desperate to keep hold of his other star player this term. With the club no longer seeing itself as the selling club of old, it’s nice to see players being rewarded with new deals.

Do you think Michail Antonio is due another new deal after his performances so far this season? Let us know.
