West Ham has been linked to a number of players in the upcoming January transfer window. With the tough start to the season, transfer rumors have plagued the team. Who might the team target in January? Will any of these players make a difference for the Hammers, or will it all end in tears? Only time will tell.

According to the Sunderland Echo, the Ivorian defender has been linked with West Ham with a possible bid of £15 million being offered. However, reportedly Everton were turned down after offering a bigger sum over the summer so Sunderland may be reluctant to let the player go.

Another defender that has been linked to West Ham leading up the transfer window is Wolverhampton’s Dominic Iorfa. While only 21, he has been a fixture for Wolves. However, according to the Mirror, the club appears ready to cash in on him and may be unable to resist a reported £5 million offer.

Clement Grenier

Multiple reports have West Ham bidding for the services of Lyon’s Clement Grenier. Grenier appears to be surplus at the Ligue 1 club, so West Ham could pry the midfielder from France. A loan with the option to buy seems to be the favored option for West Ham, with the French international moving to London before a permanent deal is made in the summer.

Carlos Bacca

While allegedly a deal with AC Milan fell through in the summer, talks appear to have resumed between the Italian giants and West Ham for Carlos Bacca. Without a reliable striker fit, Bacca might be what the Hammers need, with an impressive 18 goals last season for AC Milan. The Colombian striker is now reportedly for sale, and with West Ham’s loan signings not working out, a deal for a striker should be top priority for Bilic.

What do you think? Should the club shore up the defense? Should the team get out of the loan deals for flops Zaza and Calleri and focus on bringing in a new striker? Panic buying at the January transfer window rarely leads to success, but with a lack of options up front, West Ham may be forced to go out and buy a new striker.
