West Ham United could be about to turn their attention to highly rated Dundalk star Daryl Horgan in the January transfer window. Interest has been circling around the 24 year old winger for the past year, and with impressive displays for Dundalk it saw them take home a third consecutive Irish title, with Horgan notching 10 goals along the way.
However, it's not only Horgan's talents in Ireland that caught the eye of so many; it's been his impressive performances in Europe this season as well. During the recent international break he also earned himself a call up to the Republic of Ireland squad, with Roy Keane saying, "Look, you're in on merit. It's not a token of gesture." seemingly acknowledging his performances this season.
With interest extremely high coming from the Premier League, Championship and a number of top Scottish teams, West Ham will have to act fast in order to get their man, especially with Horgan available on a free transfer. According to sources, West Ham will have a scout in attendance at Dundalk's Europa League game Thursday night against AZ Alkmaar.
