We’re at halftime here in London with West Ham largely dominating the half. Payet had the best chance of the day so far where he shuffled past a defender only to hit the post. Towards the end of the half Sunderland decided to pick it up and start to push the Hammers onto their heels.
At 25 minutes in the match looked like this:
At the half, after Sunderland pushed back the stats looked a bit different:
Give credit here to Cheikhou Kouyate for his defensive work. Cutting out passes and interrupting the flow of play. Payet, Kouyate, and Michail Antonio have shown up today. Let’s see if they can keep up their pace in the 2nd half.
I would have thought after last week Zaza would have shown up today. I kept forgetting he was on the pitch until the 46th minute bicycle kick. Overall WHU need to be more clinical in their attack.
This match has all the makings of an upset from Sunderland...
